The Power to Move: Award-Winning Mobility Independence Film Debuts at Abilities Expo Dallas

On Saturday, December 6th at 10am, the Mobility Independence Foundation (MIF) will take center stage at the Abilities Expo in Dallas, bringing with it the powerful story of The Power to Move: The Long Overdue Fight for Mobility Independence. More than a film, The Power to Move is a movement—an urgent call to reimagine how mobility technology is created, shared, and accessed.

The Dallas Abilities Expo will be the perfect stage for this story. Attendees will witness how lived experience, engineering ingenuity, and community collaboration converge to challenge the barriers that have long kept people from the equipment they need. The film captures this struggle and triumph, showing how innovation rooted in openness and accessibility can transform lives.

At the Expo, MIF will showcase The Endurance and concepts featured in the film—equipment designed to be modular, repairable, and adaptable to individual needs. These designs are not locked behind corporate walls; they are shared freely, empowering users, their communities, and technicians to take control of their independence. Visitors will see how this approach restores dignity and agency, ensuring that mobility solutions are not dictated by profit but shaped by the people who rely on them.

Dallas will not only host a demonstration of technology but also a celebration of resilience. The Power to Move tells the story of Thomas, denied access to basic mobility, and of the communities that rose up to build solutions when systems failed them. It is a reminder that independence is not granted—it is claimed, through creativity, collaboration, and determination.

By bringing the film and its message to the Abilities Expo, MIF is inviting attendees to join a growing movement. The foundation’s work is about more than devices; it is about rewriting the narrative of mobility itself. In Dallas, that narrative will come alive, showing that the true power to move lies in openness, empowerment, and community-driven innovation.
