Leverage Adaptive Fitness to Stay DRIVEN with Steph The Hammer

In 2020, Steph “The Hammer” (Hammerman) Roach launched a virtual fitness company geared toward the adaptive population. Staying Driven is a live, interactive, online based experience. It’s fitness with YOU in mind! And you’ll get to meet her and her team members live and in person at Abilities Expo Phoenix, September 9-11 at WestWorld of Scottsdale.

Fitness Personality Works to Shift Society’s Perception of Disability in the Industry

The Staying Driven vision is to create an affordable avenue that allows individuals to enjoy fitness from the comfort of their own homes. The program is unique in the way it chooses to cater to the specific needs of the adaptive and aging population. It merges top notch coaching with a supportive community to help everyday people achieve a greater fitness potential. This educational, interactive experience is available to the public regardless of age, location, abilities or skill level.

Coach Steph and her team will lead two in-person fitness classes during the Expo for all attendees to enjoy.

She is an accomplished fitness personality who, over the past decade, has used her influence and life experience to help shift societal perceptions of what it means to have a physical disability and be included in the fitness industry. Becoming the world’s first Level 2 CrossFit trainer living with Cerebral Palsy as well as the first adaptive athlete to be signed by Nike Training (2018-2022), Steph is used to blazing trails for herself and those who follow her.

New Memoir Underscores the Importance of Adaptive Fitness in Facing Health Challenges

In addition to her popular fitness training events at Abilities Expo, Steph will also host a book signing for her very first literary work, a memoir entitled DRIVEN: How Adversity Helped Me Find My Greatest Potential.

No stranger to adversity, Steph understands the true meaning of the word overcome. In recent years, Steph incurred a different challenge: surviving Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Stage 3B. In 2016, she showed the world why being fit truly pays off, especially for a fight like cancer. Now a survivor, Steph needed to take her passion for fitness to the next level. This book is a collection of stories that will hopefully not only inspire you but, motivate you. You are capable of way more than you think. All you have to do is be DRIVEN.

Her book’s hard cover edition will be available nationwide September 20th but she will have a limited number of advanced copies available for Abilities Expo-goers. Attendees may purchase a copy and have it signed immediately after her fitness session on September 10th from 1-1:30pm.

Actor Josh Brolin weighed in on DRIVEN saying, “There is no one I know more honest about her feelings other than children who haven’t yet been conditioned to think that there are set, cultural perimeters of praise and judgement that we should all adhere to, ultimately. My friendship with Steph has liberated me in helping to live a more honest, more love-based life. The pain of life is preexisting, it is inevitable. How we approach it is what separates feathers from anchors. Listen to her words, and fly.”
