John L. Becker, Jr. is the President and Co-Founder of Advocate Financial, LLC and American Medicare Disability Advocates (AMDA). With a degree in Business Administration from Portland State University, John began his career as a Field Agent and Financial Planner with New York Life Insurance Company.
He went on to serve as Vice President and Sales Manager for Far West Federal Bank Insurance Agency in Portland, Oregon, where he played a key role in launching one of the first bank-based programs integrating annuities and securities. This pioneering work helped expand the role of financial services within banking institutions. John later served as Vice President of New Business Development for United Pacific Life’s Bank Division, where he successfully recruited financial institutions nationwide. He has recruited over 150 Banks and Credit Unions. He also held leadership positions as Executive Vice President and Board Member of CDA of America in Palm Beach, FL and as Chief Marketing Officer for Jackson Brokerage, a national insurance marketing firm in Fort Wayne, IN.
With over 40 years of experience in the life, health, and securities industries, John co-founded Advocate Financial Life and Health Brokerage with his son, Benjamin Becker, CEO. Together, they have developed a national program assisting Seniors and their families with Medicare and Social Security Options. In addition, John and Benjamin founded the American Medicare Disability Advocates, Inc a non-profit dedicated to assisting and educating individuals with disabilities and their families on Medicare as well as other benefits that may be available to them. Because of communication barriers, AMDA has determined that members of the disability community are greatly underserved. We exist to break down those barriers.
John also created the “Generational TaxSaver” and “Senior Wave Marketing” programs, designed to help institutions better serve the financial security needs of Medicare-age clients. With his son Benjamin they developed the initiative RetireCare and Financial Security Navigator program working with the “Silver Tsunami” with the developing wealth transfer of over 100 trillion dollars. He is also a nationally recognized speaker on topics including life insurance marketing, tax-efficient legacy planning, wealth transfer strategies, and annuity planning. He is a past member of the Million Dollar Round Table and was the recipient of the 2018 FFMA Agency Builder Award. John has also held leadership roles with NAIFA and NAFIC. Holds membership with NABIP.
