Carla Vassilos is a licensed clinical social worker whose career has spanned substance use disorder treatment, adult inpatient psychiatric care, hospice, and managed care. She became disabled in her 30’s following the pregnancy and birth of her twin boys, and is now home full time, volunteering at her children’s school library, on the parents’ board, and with her community association. Becoming disabled has been both deeply challenging and unexpectedly enlightening. Carla is proud to speak openly about the harder parts of pregnancy and birth that are too often overlooked.
