Andy Zimmer

In the 20+ years since his C6 spinal cord injury, Andy Zimmer’s life has been anything but slow or boring.  Always an advocate for the SCI community, he has spent time working in multiple industries that directly serve/support this same population- including outpatient physical therapy, durable medical equipment supply and homecare.  But after spending some time doing sales and marketing in the mortgage and web-development fields, Andy knew that he had to pivot and go back to putting his energy and passion towards serving underrepresented and underserved communities.  He was fortunate to be able to join the team at Help Hope Live as their Spinal Cord Injury Outreach Representative.  Outside of work, Andy loves exploring, and his top two loves of wheelchair rugby and travel (especially if there is live music involved) have taken him to the far reaches of the planet.  When he is at home, you can find him curled up with his cat, reading a good book, streaming something that’s probably science-fiction, or watching college football and cheering on his alma mater the University of Michigan.
