An Adaptive Bike for Brynlee

Something special is happening on the show floor.

At Abilities Expo Los Angeles, Help Hope Live is gifting 4-year-old Brynlee “Bryn” Bonilla a customized Freedom Concepts adaptive bike, bringing more movement, more independence and a whole lot of joy into her world.

Meet Bryn

Bryn is a bright, active 4-year-old living with multiple diagnoses including quadriplegic cerebral palsy, a brain injury, epilepsy, hearing loss and legal blindness.

In 2022, Bryn experienced bacterial meningitis that led to cardiac arrest and a traumatic brain injury. Her family nearly lost her.

Today, Bryn is non-verbal with limited motor skills, but that does not slow her down.

“With assistance, she is very active,” her family shares. “She is busy from the moment she wakes up until she goes to bed.”

Why an Adaptive Bike Matters

Bryn was introduced to an adaptive bike during therapy, and it changed everything.

“The joy that came to her face was so precious. I’ll never forget it,” her family says.

An adaptive bike gives Bryn access to movement she cannot achieve on her own. It helps relax her muscles, supports her therapy goals and opens the door to more time outdoors doing what she loves.

Soon, she will be riding alongside her sisters on trips to the park and beach.
