Wheelchair Evaluation/Fitting: How to be an Active Participant

This presentation focuses on the process of getting a wheelchair.  It is meant to empower the rider and family to be an active participant in the evaluation and fitting of the wheelchair. The goal is to explain the evaluation process in detail, including the team involved and why, the importance of the rider’s subjective input, what measurements are considered in configuring a wheelchair for optimal performance and what other information helps in making a match for the rider and the equipment choice. Goals and outcomes the rider can consider when selecting options will be outlined as well.
