Stop Losing Important Information at the Expo

If you’ve ever attended an Abilities Expo, you probably know the feeling: you discover an incredible product, nonprofit or resource during the day… and by the time you get home, you can’t remember where you saw it, what booth it was at or where you put the brochure.

The MARC Network™ is hoping to change that.

Scan It, Save It, Find It Later

Ahead of the upcoming Chicago Abilities Expo, the MARC Network has launched a free mobile Expo Scanner Tool designed specifically to help attendees quickly save exhibitor and product information while exploring the show floor.

Using the MARC Network app, attendees can scan exhibitor QR codes, add personal notes and automatically organize everything in one place throughout the event. At the end of the day, users receive a recap email containing all of the exhibitors, products, links and notes they saved—making it much easier to follow up after the expo ends.

The tool was recently piloted at the Los Angeles Abilities Expo, where attendees used it to keep track of exhibitors without carrying stacks of brochures or trying to remember where they saw a particular product or organization.

The Bigger Vision Behind the MARC Network

While the Expo Scanner was designed with events like Abilities Expo in mind, the tool can also be used anywhere users encounter QR codes and want an easy way to organize information, links, contacts and notes in one centralized place.

“We wanted to create something genuinely useful for the community,” said Marc
Fucarile, co-founder of the MARC Network and Boston Marathon bombing survivor. “People already use their phones throughout the expo experience. This gives them a
simple way to organize everything they discover during the show—and really
anywhere else they want to save and organize information quickly.”

The Expo Scanner is part of the broader MARC Network (Mobility Awareness Resource Community), a mobile-first platform focused on connecting individuals with mobility challenges, caregivers, nonprofits, resources and events in one centralized community experience.

“The Expo Scanner is just one example of the type of tools we want to build for the community,” said Fucarile. “We’re also launching a Foundations Pilot Program with several national nonprofits focused on improving engagement, communication and access to resources across the mobility community.”
