From the North:
Take 294 South or 94 East. Take 90 (Northwest Toll way) West. Exit on 53 North. Take first exit - Algonquin Road – and turn right/West. Turn left on Thoreau Drive or Meacham Road.

Take I-90 (Northwest Toll way) West from Chicago. Exit on 53 North. Take first exit - Algonquin Road – and turn right/West. Turn left on Thoreau Drive or Meacham Road.

From O’Hare Airport:
Exit airport and take I-90 (Northwest Toll way East. Exit on 53 North. Take first exit - Algonquin Road – and turn right/West. Turn left on Thoreau Drive or Meacham Road.

From the West:

Parking and Drop-off

To access complimentary parking, enter the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center (RSHCC) and proceed to the convention center entrance located on the East end of the complex by following the posted signage. If you would like to drop of any passengers before you park, please do so at the entrance facing North and just to the East of the ballroom entrance. Then proceed to the outdoor lot all around the building.

Self Parking is free. If you would prefer to valet your vehicle, the costs are $13 for daytime valet and $17 for overnight.

Free Curbside Shuttle Service from Arlington Park Metra Station:
Provided compliments of SCR Medical Transportation, Inc.

Complimentary transportation service will be available for people with disabilities travelling from Arlington Park Station to Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center. Each vehicle can hold one wheelchair and approximately three able-bodied individuals comfortably. The vehicles have been designed to be ADA/CSA compliant. Each van can easily accommodate wheelchairs that are 30" wide and 48" long, which is the ADA "standard."

There will be 2 vehicles running all 3 show days on a continuous loop to and from Arlington Park Station to Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center.Vans will run one hour prior to the start of the Expo through 30 minutes after the end of the show each day.

  • Friday , June 23: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm (Last pick up from the station is at 4:00 pm)
  • Saturday, June 24: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm (Last pick up from the station is at 4:00 pm)
  • Sunday, June 25: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm (Last pick up from the train station is at 3:00 pm)

If you do not see the van with the Abilities Expo logo in the window when you arrive, look for the signage at the station and await the van's return.

Free Shuttle Service from Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel:
The Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel  will provide to their guests, accessible transportation within a 3 mile radius  of the hotel from 4:30PM-10:30PM Thursday-Sunday.  Please call the Concierge Desk to request this complimentary service and provide as much advance time as possible. 


Metra provides accessible travel all over Chicagoland and most of its stations are wheelchair accessible. Click here for details. Please visit www.metrarail.com to plan your itinerary. The closest train station to the Schaumburg Convention Center is the Arlington Park station on the Metro Union Pacific Northwest line.

Pace Suburban Bus Service

All Pace fixed routes are accessible for persons who use mobility aids and service is available in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties. Please visit www.pacebus.com to plan your itinerary.

Pace ADA Paratransit Service

Reservations hours for Pace Suburban ADA services will be taken Monday through Friday 6:00am to 7:00pm, Saturday 8:00am to 5:00pm (when Sunday ADA service is available) and Sunday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Please click here for details and fares.

From Chicago O'Hare Airport:

If you are looking for private transportation from Chicago O'Hare Airport to the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center, SCR Medical Transportation offers the following:

  • A one-way trip for one power OR one manual chair is $76.50. The vehicle will also hold up to three ambulatory passengers at no additional charge as long as their presence is noted when the reservation is made.
  • Round trip is $153 with the same caveats as above.
  • If there are two chairs, then the second chair would be charged an additional $35. Also, no additional charge for ambulatory passengers who are mentioned in the initial reservation.
  • If you have three or more chairs in one ride, please call to make special arrangements.

  • From O'Hare, take the blue line train southbound to Jefferson Park Station. The cost is $5.00.
  • Exit station and cross the street to the Jefferson Park Metra Station.
  • Take the Union Pacific NW Metra Train to Arlington Park Metra station. The cost is $4.75.

Disabled On The Go Transit, Inc. will provide rides and returns from the suburbs to Abilities Expo at reduced rates during the Expo.

Open Taxi

Chicago's Centralized Wheelchair Accessible Dispatch 

Open Taxis offer pre-arranged taxi rides round trip from anywhere in the City of Chicago to Schaumburg. Accessible vehicles include MV-1s (with two tie-down positions) and Toyotas. Rates have been discounted to paying straight meter instead of the typical suburban rate of meter plus one half. Just call (855) 928-1010 or email dispatch1@opendoorsnfp.org up to 48 hours in advance.

You can not order accessible vehicles from O'Hare or Midway airports in advance. However, these vehicles are available on site. Just consult the taxicab coordinator when you arrive at the airport.

Suburb to suburb rides are also available. Pricing will depend the suburb distance plus a 10% discount and we high recommend that you pre-arrange this travel.

On Demand service will be available. Please call as early as possible and allow for traffic time. 
Uber will offer a code for first time riders and $20 off if "ABILITIESEXPO" is used.  Riders can now request wheelchair accessible vehicles, vehicles that may accommodate a folding chair or walker and specially trained drivers to assist people with all types of disabilities. This is the preferred method of transportation for people with service animals!
